The one thing World of Warcraft (or WoW) has always done well is to keep evolving the game to make it a smoother, more fun and user friendly experience. I also just love how they celebrate all the holidays in the game. For instance - During Christmas you can find Santa Claus perched outside major cities with his bag of toys. Or you can find pumpkins on halloween and easter egg hunts during easter. They have other regular festivities too like a rousing fair or a wild beer festival. It is always entertaining. Add to this the fact that you can interact online with so many other players for help (or hinder). For example - having trouble with a quest? Go to a major city or even a small village and you will find many players eager to help out. Conversely - stray too far away from a safe area and you can quickly run into and kill or be killed by a rival faction.
Anyway, this weekend was Chris’ inaugural foray into a larger world. He was positively glowing with excitement as he made his first character. The boys and I had recently joined up again so we were all there to help him get up a few levels. The day was filled with shouts of glee, exuberant exclamations of triumph and angry shouts if dismay.
Things like “I’M BEING FLANKED - HELP!!” or “HA HA, TAKE THAT!!” or “THEY’RE ALL OVER ME - SOMEONE BLAST THEM!” or “DIE YOU GRAVY SUCKING PIG!” filled my house.
At first I was a little dismayed at all the screaming until I discovered, to my great shock, that a lot of it was coming from me. LOL
I must say it was quite fun to be romping the world of Azeroth again.
