Nicole and I hid 24 plastic eggs for the kids to find. Just to switch things up a bit from previous years 23 of the eggs had candy in them and one egg had money. Nicole and I had to hide the eggs very quickly. She had to get to a work meeting and I had to cook dinner for everyone and get Nicky to his martial arts class. Jimmy and Chris just wanted us to hurry. LOL.
We managed to hide all 24 eggs in about 60 seconds! We just went randomly about my house stuffing eggs into any hole or crevice we could find and moved on. Not much thought to it, just simple expediency. We then let the kids into the house and turned them loose.
The kids came into the house with a vengeance and began tearing the house apart. They were practically berserk in the quest for more sugar. Echoing through the house were gleeful shouts of “I FOUND ONE” or “I GOT ANOTHER” along with shrieks of laughter and joy. Such wonderful sounds!
When all was said and done and the dust (and pieces of my house) settled they had a grand total of 23 eggs. Guess which one was missing? Yep, the one with the money in it! This set off another berserk, frenzied search to no avail.
Nicole and I looked at each other blankly. We hadn’t really sorted the eggs out so we had no idea which one had the money when we were hiding them. In addition, we hid them so fast we honestly couldn’t even remember all the hiding places. We started looking ourselves which really made me laugh. Imagine trying to find the eggs you yourself just hid no less than 30 minutes earlier. It really sucks getting old and losing your memory! LOL The worst part?
We never found it.
Someday we are going to find it and laugh some more!
